YET ANOTHER MASK

Behind all the smiles and fake laughters,
Hide deep down a lot of disasters,
Why do we all put on those fake faces
Why do we put ourselves in useless races?

Life is a stage and we are all actors,
So said the Bard, and made us go scamper,
We act and laugh, mimic and pamper,
We put on masks and mask our anger.

Let's get off the stage and see in real time,
Isn't the air fresher just like lemon and lime?
The countenance without the all concealing mask,
Makes facing our fears a much easier task.

LASTING HAPPINESS

The happiness of belonging,
The sorrow of parting,
Getting lost in day dreams,
Writing letters while sitting by streams,
This is what love is all about,
It is the most beautiful feeling without doubt.

Waiting for a glimpse,
Searching for an epithet,
Looking for that glint,
Finding that sobriquet,
Getting all breathless,
Love is all that and more, it is actually a poem by itself.

Time goes by without blinking an eye,
A cup of coffee lasts even as the sun sets in the sky,
The tear in the eye and the fear of the morrow,
Does not spoil the moment or cause sorrow,
Love is a cure, it bodes you well,
Life gets propelled and in happiness you dwell.

As life's evening comes by,
The coffee turns bitter,
The sky looks foreboding,
Fear comes aflutter,
Time seems to fly too fast,
Thoughts grip that  days are not going to last.

I wonder why happiness, that beautiful moment ensconced,
Disappears somewhere in the myriad moments as we have grown,
As the destination appears closer than we think,
Life seems to be taking us to the brink,
Why sink in an abyss and dwell on sorrow,
When there is still time to rejoice and plan for tomorrow.
